EmRata Just Walked Her Dog In The Most Perfect Summer Suit
Turns out some of the best celebrity looks are found off the red carpet. From running to meetings to jetting around the world on press tours, your favorite stars know a thing or two about off-duty style. Case in point: Emily Ratajkowski’s recent tan suit look, which is all about taking a neutral and casual stance on warm-weather dressing.
Ratajkowski stepped out in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood on June 3 for a morning walk with her husband, film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard, and her brand new puppy, Columbo. Instead of slipping into her typical uniform of leggings and a hoodie, the model and designer took things up a notch and went for a tan two-piece suit styled over a cropped white t-shirt.
She completed her look with other gender-neutral pieces: a gold Rolex watch and a pair of cream-colored chunky sneakers by Ami Alexandre Mattiussi. Her hands were kept free thanks to a brown mini bag on a delicate gold crossbody chain. Her only other accessory? A black iced coffee from N.Y.C hotspot Gasoline Alley.
This isn't the first time Ratajkowski has worn — and looked incredible in — a tan suit: She recently wore a similar, olive-colored one for a day full of meetings back in April. Plus, she married her husband in a mustard-hued suit from Zara in 2018. (The $300 suit sold out minutes after Ratajkowski posted photos from the courthouse to her Instagram.)
Shades of beige have been massively popular this season after being a mainstay on the Spring and Summer 2019 runways. Designers like Burberry, Balmain, and Max Mara all featured tan, monochrome looks on their runways. Off the catwalk, nearly every influencer, blogger, and editor has been adopting the trend, too. Ratajkowski herself even chose to wear a tan midi dress recently while appearing on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.
This season, take a page out of EmRata’s playbook and try a tan suit for yourself. If you’re looking for versatility in your wardrobe, the warm-weather co-ord is the perfect option. Each piece can be worn either together as a monochrome look or separately to dress up more casual outfits.
When the weather really heats up, try looking for a short suit option. They’re a breezy, modern take on the classic style. If more fitted styles aren’t up your alley, try going for an oversized option with longline shapes and slouchy-fitting trousers.
