It's no secret that mid-length hair can actually be the hardest to style. Do you pull it back and risk your hard work when multiple pieces continue to break loose throughout the day? Or do you spend the time straightening it, only to look in the mirror and find the dreaded flip that your shoulder-grazing-ends can't seem to avoid? Emma Roberts' new bob haircut is the stylish and uncomplicated hair inspiration you need to refresh your grown-out look this season.
Roberts attended the the Trevor Project's 2018 Gala in Beverly Hills on Sun. evening sporting a brand-new (albeit, subtle) chop. The actor, who's demonstrated her love for a drastic hair change time and again, showed off a new look in a sleek and straight style just a few inches shorter than her previous length. She donned a simple middle part, which looked perfectly groomed into place with just the right amount of spray.
The 27-year-old wore her new bob pin straight and tucked behind her ears, accentuating a pair of multi-tiered earrings, featuring diamond-encrusted pink spheres. Her smooth hair made way for a sophisticatedly bold beauty look, complete with feathered brows, thick, long lashes, and cherry-red lipstick to match her dress. While she likely had the help of a seasoned hair professional to achieve her elegant look, it's super easy to recreate all on your own (with the right haircut, that is).
According to The Daily Mail, Roberts was photographed leaving celebrity-favorite hair salon Nine Zero One on Nov. 30, where it's likely she received her chop. The West Hollywood-based salon has accumulated an impressive client roster filled with A-listers including Selena Gomez, Julianne Hough, and Hilary Duff (who recently went platinum blonde).
While Roberts' hair change is less dramatic than a pixie or waist-length extensions, there's still a noticeable difference. The actor is no stranger to hair changes, experimenting with almost every cut and color under the sun. She's tried rich brown and amber red, but she's found her way back to her signature blonde hue over the past year or so. In recent months, Roberts has worn a shoulder-skimming lob with wavy, lived-in texture. Before making the cut, Roberts walked the red carpet at the premiere of In A Relationship in West Hollywood on Oct. 30 with shoulder-length, loose waves.
It's possible that the 27-year-old made the change for a new role, but it's also likely that she opted for the ultra-short length because of its convenience. A bob is easy to wear smooth and straight, as seen above, but also looks polished when worn in undone curls or beachy bends. Plus, the shorter your hair is, the less time you have to waste in front of the mirror with a blow dryer.
