Gemma Chan Just Wore A Chic Update To Your Go-To Black Pants
Between her roles in Crazy Rich Asians, Mary Queen of Scots, and Captain Marvel, Gemma Chan became an A-lister seemingly overnight. Her presence on the red carpet of this season's awards shows proved that she's as much of an authority on fashion as any other Hollywood veteran. On Weds., the actor took the hot seat on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where she chatted with the talk show host about growing up in England and her latest superhero film. She arrived in the rain, but an umbrella kept her chic teddy coat safe and dry. When she got inside, she ditched the layer to reveal lust-worthy leather and tassel-trimmed separates.
The actor posted a photo of herself backstage on Instagram, tagging the Chinese-born, London-based designer Huishan Zhang. It's safe to say that fringe, black leather, and shiny details are the designer's thing, and Chan's outfit included all of the above.
Her sleeveless crop top featured a sparkly tassel trim that swayed as she made her grand entrance on the late-night show. Matching the top, her high-waisted leather pants featured a bohemian fringe hem, too.
Her elegant-yet-edgy bottoms put a fun, '70s-style spin on your average leather pants. They were the perfect fit for her personal style, too, considering they combined all her favorite design elements in one single wardrobe staple.
Chan is no stranger to tassel (remember the full-fringe gown she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party?) nor black leather (she recently wore a black leather jumpsuit during a Captain Marvel press conference). It's almost like these Huishan Zhang pants were made for her.
