Hailey Baldwin's Jacquemus Suit Confirms The Oversized Trend Is Still Going Strong
Hailey Baldwin is the queen of basics. She knows exactly how to make a simple black tank top look 10-times edgier; she frequently wears the coolest jeans-and-tees combo in game; and she rocks trendy legging sets like it's her job (well, sometimes it is). But for every easygoing getup the model churns out, there's an equally-good, slightly more out-there combo that follows. Earlier this week, the 22-year-old tastemaker wore a white Brandy Melville tank top while on a stroll with Justin Bieber. A few days later, Baldwin stepped out in the boldest Jacquemus suit. She really can pull off everything.
Jacquemus' Spring 2020 Resort show was one for the books. On June 24, the French designer presented a 65-piece unisex collection on a hot-pink runway on a Provence lavender field, and on August 6, one of his most-raved about looks made its L.A. street-style debut on none other than perennial cool-girl, Baldwin.
On Tues., the model was photographed looking as cool as ever while leaving West Hollywood salon Nine Zero One, after presumably getting her hair touched up. Baldwin was all business in a baby-blue, floral-print suit from Jacquemus' Resort 2020 collection. The menswear-inspired set is oversized in the best way, featuring a blazer with extra-large, sharp shoulders and baggy trousers. A perfectly-fitted suit may have been the thing in the past, but now, it's all about sets with roomier silhouettes, just like Baldwin's.
As per usual, Baldwin (and her stylist, Maeve Reilly) took a fresh approach with the styling, too. Rather than wearing it with heels and a yellow bralette — as the model did who rocked it on the June runway — she opted for a relaxed white tee that she tucked into the trousers and blue sneakers from the latest Off-White x Nike collaboration. The 22-year-old topped off the getup with Celine sunglasses and a white Jacquemus bag.
Baldwin isn't the only celeb test drive the oversized suit trend — and she definitely won't be the last, considering oversized-anything is trending for fall 2019. Dakota Fanning sported a loose-fitting Mango suit back in May and Olivia Wilde rocked her own take back in Sept. 2018.
