Given the unique circumstances of the world, you probably have more time on your hands than you’ve had in a while. Your work life might be business-as-usual — aside from your now working from home. But with everyone standing six feet apart, you’ve likely found yourself wondering what to do when you aren’t on the clock. Perhaps you already caught up on the latest streaming movies or mastered that new hobby you took on. But if you’re looking for another thing to do, this is the perfect time to tidy up your space. And for those of you planning to tackle your closet, start simple with these tips on how to organize underwear.

In a time where you’re surrounded by your home and everything inside of it, you’ve likely noticed the areas that could use some TLC. If your lingerie drawer happens to be one of them, well, there’s no time like the present. Of course, your delicates are known as delicates for a reason, which means they require a certain level of care. Luckily, industry experts from lingerie brands Liberté, Evelyn & Bobbie, and Monique Morin have shared their tips to ensure your intimates are stowed away in the best way possible.

We only include products that have been independently selected by The Zoe Report's editorial team. However, we may receive a portion of sales if you purchase a product through a link in this article.

Tip #1: Edit out anything old, tattered, or uncomfortable.

Liberté

“Undergarments should make you feel confident, beautiful and powerful,” said Amber Tolliver, the founder of lingerie brand Liberté, in an email. And with that in mind, there's no reason to hang on to the pieces that don't. This should also help you pare down your underwear selection to the best of the best.

Tip #2: Organize your best pieces by style.

Evelyn & Bobbie

By sorting your lingerie into sections by style, you'll be able to have a better idea of where everything is. "Your underwear drawer is the first one you open in the morning. If you reach into a crumpled chaotic mess, it’s setting your mood for the rest of your day," the founder of Evelyn & Bobbie, Bree McKeen shared.

Tip #3: Fold your pieces neatly and so that you can clearly see where everything is.

The key to maintaining your underwear drawer's organization is by folding it so you can not only see everything but also keep it from getting too disheveled. Monique Morin, the founder of her eponymous lingerie brand said, "Fold using a method that keeps your bras and underwear organized." For bras, Morin suggests keeping them open on top of each other, whereas underwear should be folded with the design visible.
