Irina Shayk Is Reviving This Classic ‘90s Boot
Summer shoes don't always have to mean sandals, sneakers, and slides exclusively. Despite steamy temperatures in New York City, some people simply refuse to take a break from their combat boots — Irina Shayk included. The model's Doc Martens have become a permanent fixture in her warm-weather wardrobe.
Between vacationing in Iceland, partying at Pride, playing with her daughter on the park slide, and racking up enough of a haul at Intimissimi to warrant several bags, Shayk is living her best post-breakup life.
The model's frequent strolls with her one-year-old, Lea, often involve no shortage of designer streetwear, from Falconeri cardigans to denim separates by Rihanna's Fenty. One item that's never absent is her favorite pair of combat boots.
Shayk sported her trusty 1460 ALT Doc Martens for the third time in a week on Mon., this time with a floral-print Reformation mini and an oversized black denim jacket by Levi's. Earlier in the day, she wore them with a black tank, bike shorts, and a bubblegum-pink cardigan.
The 33-year-old's new summer uniform is pretty much the epitome of New York City casual. Airy enough to beat the relentless humidity, but never skimping on the black because it's still New York, after all.
That previous Fri., she sported them with Fenty's denim corset dress and coordinating skirt as she carried out a truckload of lingerie from Intimissimi, for which she's an ambassador.
Shayk's not the only one wearing her Doc Martens well into summer, either. The classic combat boot was all the rage this past winter, but fashion girls like Candice Swanepoel, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and the ultimate boot girl Kaia Gerber have been wearing theirs well into summer.
Less than a month ago, the Russian model couldn't part from her 1460 lace-ups — sporting them with mini dresses and leather jackets in true Irina Shayk style — but has since traded them in for a double-buckle pair. Her Doc Martens and others like them, ahead.
