Jennifer Lawrence Is Engaged — Here’s What We Know

It looks like Jennifer Lawrence and her art gallerist boyfriend will be spending Valentine's Day planning a wedding. Speculation that Cooke Maroney had popped the question started stirring after the Oscar winner reportedly stepped out with a colossal ring on her finger. Her rep confirmed with E! on Tues. that the rumors are true: Jennifer Lawrence is engaged.

The news that J. Law was dating Maroney broke in 2018, when photographers first captured the couple hand-in-hand on a casual outing in New York City. TheRed Sparrow actor had allegedly been dating the art gallerist since March.

So, now that your favorite down-to-earth actor is about to become a bride, it's best you get to know her new fiancé. An art history grad, 34-year-old Maroney is now a director at Gladstone 64, according to E!, and he is known to frequent high-end art openings around the city.

The couple was reportedly introduced by Lawrence's longtime best friend, Laura Simpson, who you might remember was the actor's date to the 2014 Oscars. Unlike Lawrence's past relationships, she's tried to keep this one more under wraps.

"They have been very private and careful not to be seen together," a source told E! last summer, but things are probably about to change, seeing as the couple is now engaged.

Things between the lovebirds started getting serious, it seems, last Aug., when they took a romantic trip to Paris together. Then, not long after they left the so-called "city of love," the couple jetted off to Rome, where they explored the Galleria Borghese, Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri church, the Villa Borghese gardens, and other sites.

Lawrence also seemed to have stepped out of the Hollywood spotlight in the meantime, limiting her appearances to only a few select engagements since the Academy Awards in March.

Now about six months into their relationship, the couple recently went out to dinner and Page Six spotted a "massive ring" on her finger — or, rather, the finger. It turns out the outlet was right ... it's only a matter of time before the wedding bells start ringing.

The 28-year-old has yet to speak out about the engagement, and there hasn't been any talk about a potential wedding date. Perhaps Lawrence and Maroney will keep it as low-key as they've tried to keep their relationship, but let's all just hope the bride-to-be at least offers up a glimpse of the much-anticipated gown.
