Jennifer Lopez Just Identified The Next It-Hat For Fall

Jennifer Lopez is a trendsetter in every sense of the word. Ahead of the curve and bold are two ways to describe the music icon's signature style — and her latest outfit of the day post encompasses her distinctive sartorial edge to a T. The Instagram (and the leather beret Lopez wore) just kicked off fall 2019's biggest hat trend. So, toss that straw boater hat aside for now and instead, reach for the classic French topper, but in a buttery material.

J. Lo's highly-anticipated film project, Hustlers, is hitting theaters soon (mark your calendars for Sept. 13, because that's when it's set to land at a cinema near you), and as such, the pre-release press has officially started — and with quite the bang. The movie's leading ladies, including Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, Constance Wu, and, of course, Lopez, headed to the Four Season's Los Angeles on Sun. for a photo call event — and to say they all slayed the red carpet would be a serious understatement.

Mid-event, J. Lo took a break to post up on a velvety yellow couch to show off her evening attire from another perspective — and the combo of the golden velvet and her all-leather burgundy look made for pure Instagram gold. The singer's buttery dress is courtesy of Zimmerman's Fall 2019 runway collection. It's crafted in full leather (so cool!) and features a high neckline, long sleeves, and wrap detailing around the waist.

When the leather dress made its way down the designer's catwalk, the model donned it with leather boots, a coordinating beret, and a pair of retro-inspired shades. Lopez swapped the boots for gold pumps that added a dash of luxe, but she kept the shades (a similar style to those the model wore) and the beret the same.
