Jennifer Lopez Took Cues From Gigi Hadid In Her Latest Outfit
Red and green, who? Orange may very well be the next emerging holiday hue, no matter how surprising. While you've likely experimented with the monochrome trend in a neutral shade, there's something electrifying about a super-bright ensemble come wintertime. Jennifer Lopez's orange outfit offers a stylish way to illuminate a dark Dec. afternoon.
J. Lo looked captivating on the set of Despierta América at Univision Studios in Miami on Fri. Lopez, who's spent the last week churning out epic red carpet outfits for her latest film, Second Act, blended an impressive assortment of orange pieces for a super-bold look. The focal point of Lopez's outfit was a strapless bodycon midi dress by Alex Perry under a matching lightweight duster.
Lopez took the outfit a step further with neon-orange pumps by Casadei, adding neutral accents like mini gold hoops by Jennifer Fisher and a Mark Cross white box clutch. In characteristically J. Lo fashion, the pop-culture icon couldn't pass up a final touch of glamour: an orange-toned pair of reflective aviator sunglasses.
The popularity of this bright hue may seem like it came out of left field, but there's a good chance Lopez took inspiration from Pantone's color of the year, Lively Coral. Although 2019's soon-to-be-everywhere shade may be more flushed, it's quite similar to J. Lo's palette. What's more, celebrities like Gigi Hadid have stepped out this month in orange-on-orange looks, too. Just last week, the 23-year-old model stunned in a bright, poppy-toned outfit.
Working an upbeat color like coral into your wardrobe can seem intimidating, especially if you tend to stick to neutrals. However, styling this lively tone is actually pretty easy, whether you're looking to dive all in or just get your feet wet. Try something monochrome like J. Lo by pairing an orange midi dress with a matching bag, then tone it down with nude pumps.
If you're only ready to add a touch of color, a pair of bright-orange boots will do the trick. Try wearing them with straight-leg denim, a satin camisole, and a boxy checked blazer. Swapping out your go-to black booties for a more exciting pair will take your look to the next level.
