While most of the world is consumed with the fact that we just kicked off a brand-new decade, Hollywood is laser-focused on something else that the beginning of a new year signifies: the return of award season. And while the hardworking lot of actors, directors, writers, et al. get dressed up to dazzle on red carpets and hope their films receive recognition, its the perfect opportunity to pick up some fresh sartorial and beauty inspiration. Case in point: J.Lo's pink eyeshadow at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala, which is surprisingly easy to recreate.

The superstar attended the 31st annual festival and awards show in Palm Springs on Jan. 2 in support of her critically-acclaimed film Hustlers, and to receive this year's edition of the festival's Spotlight award for actresses (past winners have included Amy Adams, Jessica Chastain, and Julia Roberts, so she's in great company).

And on a night that was all about her, she naturally pulled out all the stops with her look. Lopez donned a pink and green floral Richard Quinn gown that fell above her ankles in the front and flowed in a carpet-sweeping train in the back. She complemented the show-stopping water color-effect frock with stunning emerald drop earrings and simple pink pumps — and a pretty-in-pink beauty look to match.

The most eye-catching part of the feminine look? Her pink eyeshadow, which was the perfect pop of color to complement the girly ensemble. The shade mimics the deepest pinks in her gown, and is blended from J.Lo's eyelid up to her brow bone, with paler frosted pinks and silvers smudged into her inner corners for an eye-opening effect. A deeper burnished shade adds dimension along her lower lash line, and creates a smoldering, nighttime-ready vibe.

Her high impact makeup is pretty easy to recreate, too, and actually wearable in everyday life thanks to the neutral-to-warm undertones of the shadows used — choose pinks that reflect the same tones as your own complexion to get the same vibe (and keep color concentrated on just your lids for daytime events). To keep the look grounded, make like Lopez and continue the same color palette on the rest of your face with a warm pink cheek and a glossy natural-pink lip.
