Although it was only two months ago, it seems like it's been forever since designers debuted their spring lineups during Paris Fashion Week. And even though we'll still need to wait until next season for the new collections to hit the market, that doesn't mean the runway looks will shy away from the limelight any time soon. Case in point: Julia Roberts wore a rainbow dress and jacket plucked from Valentino's Spring 2019 collection on Mon. afternoon, proving vibrant colors might be worth experimenting with stat.

The actor was photographed in New York City wearing the cool, '70s-inspired piece: a multi-colored, chevron-print dress with long, billowy sleeves, a high neck, and a flowing hemline. Although a rainbow print sounds overwhelming in theory, Roberts' effortless look showed off the true versatility of bold color combinations. The actor paired the lively piece with pointed black ankle boots by Chloe Gosselin and pink-toned Ray-Bans in a classic aviator shape. She styled her hair in texturized waves that sat in an effortlessly undone side part.

The iconic actor's look was created in collaboration with her longtime stylist and friend, Elizabeth Stewart. The two have been working together for years and even walked the carpet side by side at the Instyle Awards, sporting matching lilac suits.

Celebrities tend to recreate runway looks in ways that are all their own, just like Roberts did with this unique Valentino number. When the dress originally hit the runway in Sept., the model wore it with a matching rainbow trench, flat brown sandals, and horseshoe-shaped gold earrings. The designer let the vivid shades in the outfit do all the talking, adding neutral touches like simple shoes and minimal jewelry.

Instead of combining the two colorful pieces to create a layered look, Roberts opted to wear each item separately. Keeping her shoes and sunglasses the same, Roberts' swapped the midi-dress for its trench coat counterpart later in the day Mon. She toned it down by adding a black turtleneck, form-fitting black pants, and layered, colorful necklaces.

The actor is no stranger to color, often donning bold hues like fuchsia, lavender, and powder blue. In fact, she even experimented with pink hair earlier this year.
