Kaia Gerber Found The Affordable Fall Blazer You’ll Live In Next Season
Sure, Kaia Gerber may be a runway superstar with access to an endless supply of big-ticket designers you could only ever dream of owning (read: Chanel, Prada, Jimmy Choo, just to name a few). But that doesn't mean the teen is a stranger at shopping at more wallet-friendly mall brands. Cindy Crawford's mini me loves a good Brandy Melville find, and even though the plaid blazer Gerber just wore could easily hail from said Cali-cool brand, it's actually from another celeb-favorite line that you probably hit up on the regular, too.
When doubt about how to do high-low style mixing the right way, you can also count on the 17-year-old model to serve up an easy-to-copy lesson. Gerber is the unofficial queen of pairing Prada with Converse, or a Brandy Melville cardigan with Jimmy Choo boots — and she just did it again, but this time, with a Madewell blazer and a Stella McCartney bag.
On Aug. 25, Gerber was spotted leaving L.A. hotspot, Nobu Malibu, and as per usual, she was sporting another easygoing yet chic off-duty uniform you didn't know you needed in your life — until now. The tastemaker has been playing favorites with '80s, retro-inspired trends and silhouettes as of late, which is exactly what her recent getup was all about.
Straight-leg jeans with subtle distress, plus her go-to black high-top Converse made up the bottom portion of her, while a cropped white tank top (perhaps from Brandy Melville?) and a slouchy, oversized plaid blazer made up the upper half. A Stella McCartney camera bag and rectangular sunglasses topped off the ensemble.
Upon first glance, Gerber's blazer looks like it cost big bucks — and based on some of the past toppers she worn, it wouldn't be a surprise if it did — but in reality, the double-breasted jacket rings in at a cool $168 and is still available for you to buy at Madewell.
Summer is quickly winding down, which means the time to prep your fall wardrobe is officially, well, yesterday. Snakeskin boots à la Tracee Ellis Ross and a plaid blazer, exactly like Gerber's, are two autumn essentials you'll live in starting next month.
