Kate Middleton Just Tried Out A Totally New Hairstyle
It's no secret that barrettes, jeweled pins, and statement-making headbands have taken the red carpet, street style, and even Instagram by storm in recent weeks. Whether you're on board or not, hair accessories are all kinds of here to stay. And if you needed any more reason to try out the trend yourself, the Duchess of Cambridge has officially given it her seal of approval. Yes, Kate Middleton wore a blue headband on Sun. afternoon, and it made for one of her boldest accessory moments to date.
Middleton attended a Sun. service alongside Prince William at the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in King's Lynn on Jan. 6. She wore a fitted trench coat by Catherine Walker, a piece she was photographed in last Jan. while visiting Oslo, Norway. The structured coat featured a high neck, shapely shoulders, and a vibrant-blue hue, and Middleton chose to accessorize with black pumps.
The finishing touch, of course, was the chic headband by British headwear designer, Jane Taylor. Since Middleton usually keeps it simple by finishing a look with her signature chestnut curls, this intricate hair piece was a major change of pace for the Duchess.
Middleton's closet is no doubt loaded with fascinators in all shapes and sizes, but this modern twist on a royal classic gave off a much more contemporary vibe. By matching her headband to her coat, the Duchess used a unique piece to create a cohesive ensemble.
While kitschy, '90s-inspired headbands are back in style, they aren't the only option when it comes to taking your look to the next level with hair accessories. Deck yourself in velvet for a sultry style, or try a cool silk wrap. Upgrade a longtime staple piece with an embellished headband, or add even more excitement to a new look by trying out a beaded piece.
Depending on how you style it, adding a headband to your everyday look can be as polished or as edgy as you want. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's picks for the royal-inspired, sleek headbands to add to your collection stat.
