This Is How Kate Middleton Styles Combat Boots
It's no secret the Duchess of Cambridge loves her black Tod's pumps. They're versatile, comfortable, and simple to wear, so it makes perfect sense that she reaches for them almost nonstop. However, the duchess has been experimenting a bit in the footwear department lately, trading in some of her signature picks for more of-the-moment styles. Enter, Kate Middleton's brown combat boots: the trend-forward, pair-with everything shoes that are so easy to style.
On Thurs., Middleton paid a visit to the Scouts’ headquarters in Gilwell Park. The duchess reportedly learned more about the organization's latest pilot program, an initiative that would bring Scouting to younger children to help them improve their "emotional resilience, communication and language skills, and readiness for school," Kensington Palace confirmed in a Tweet.
Middleton took a more down-to-earth dressing approach while getting ready for the day, a fitting decision considering she spent part of her visit exploring the nearby woods. The royal channeled outdoor vibes in a Mahogany J.Crew sweater (which just so happens to be super on sale right now), black skinny jeans, and her new favorite shoes: chunky lace-up combat boots by Chloé that feature a thick wooden sole and gold hardware.
Hiking boots are everywhere right now, and it's safe to assume Middleton is fully on board with the rising trend. The Thurs. outing wasn't the first time the royal traded in her go-to pumps for the practical outdoor shoe. Back in Jan., she stepped out for her first engagement of the year in the same exact combat boots — and she took a similar styling approach, too, pairing them with green Zara skinny jeans, a sweater, and a green jacket.
Aside from the shoes' trendiness factor, there's another reason the duchess has likely been wearing them nonstop: They're so simple to wear. Though she prefers to tuck skinny jeans into the boot, they would look just as great worn with a light-as-air linen dress, distressed denim, or a contrasting silk skirt.
Middleton's exact pair is (unsurprisingly) sold out, the market is chock-full of similar styles. Ahead, The Zoe Report's roundup of the coolest combat boots to buy now and wear forever.
