These Espadrilles Have Earned A Permanent Spot In Kate Middleton's Summer Rotation
When it comes to summer footwear, the duchess is particularly partial to one shoe. If the sun is shining, you can bet Kate Middleton is wearing her favorite espadrilles — the ones you always see her sporting to garden parties and barbecues in the park. Maybe these classic warm-weather wedges should make a comeback in your picnic aesthetic as well.
A Kate Middleton sighting is just the thing every girl needs mid-week when the yearning for Saturday hits with a vengeance. Especially when the ever-chic royal looks like the definition of sweet summer days in one of her many flowy frocks. It's enough to make you want to put on a fascinator and sip Prosecco in the nearest botanical garden.
An outing like that, in fact, would warrant an appearance from the duchess' favorite shoes. Middleton has been a fan of the espadrille for years. These lightweight canvas heels with woven esparto rope soles are the quintessential summer shoes and a longtime staple in Her Royal Highness' wardrobe.
Lately, it seems as though she's retired the pair by Monsoon that she used to wear constantly (all throughout 2016 and 2017) and replaced them with an upgraded version by the ultimate espadrille authority, Castaner.
On Tues., Middleton attended a photography workshop with Action for Children because, if you didn't already know, she's a shutterbug of sorts. For the occasion, she pulled out a romantic paisley-print midi with flutter sleeves and a ruffled hemline from her closet. Her go-to neutral espadrilles were of course the perfect match.
The tan hue of her suede wedges, adorned with thin wrap-around ankle straps, make them a fit for every floral dress in her repertoire — the one she wore when photographed with Prince Louis at the Chelsea Flower Show as well as the one she wore when debuting her garden to the Queen last month.
