Kate Middleton Ditched Her Neutral Pumps For Some Very Surprising Footwear
The Duchess of Cambridge has slowly but surely been stepping outside of her style comfort zone as of late. The royal, who's known to find a brand (or a wardrobe staple) she likes and stick to it time and again, has been infusing many of her recent appearance getups with welcomed doses of newness. The latest example came on Weds., when Kate Middleton stepped out in glittery pumps that were a far outside her usual footwear wheelhouse. You probably didn't know you needed a pair of sparkly shoes — until now.
Middleton has had a whirlwind past few months, which means the royalty-approved outfit inspiration is plenty right now. While the duchess' May wardrobe was certainly one of her strongest to date, her latest June getup proves this month may be her most glamorous yet — just take a look at her latest ensemble as proof.
On Weds. evening, Middleton stepped out for the first Addiction Awareness Week gala, hosted by Action on Addiction — a charity that helps individuals and families affected by drugs and alcohol. The duchess, who is actually a royal patron of the organization, looked radiant in a white off-the-shoulder midi dress by Barbara Casasola. The frock is paneled with sheer mesh inserts for a sportier feel and features an elegant flared skirt that billowed while she walked.
The dress, though super-stunning, wasn't the something new in her latest outfit (she wore it back in 2016). Her footwear, however, was. Fans were in for a major shoe treat on Weds., when Middleton arrived at the gala in a pair of glittery metallic Jimmy Choo heels. She's known to favor more neutral-colored pumps, so the June 12 shoe sighting was quite an unexpected (though welcomed) style move from the duchess.
Middleton topped off her gala getup with a pair of blue-topaz circle earring from Kiki McDonough — a jewelry label she shops frequently — and a silk Wilbur and Gussie clutch (complete with a silver crystal bee brooch).
