Kate Middleton Made This Sparkly Dress Look So Elevated
The duchess' New Year's resolution must be to try new things, because she's been introducing all kinds of risky concepts into her wardrobe lately. Her recent outings have included hiking boots, one-shoulder dresses, and a surprising amount of glitter. Now, in another bold look, Kate Middleton wore a sparkly green dress to the Empire Music Hall in Belfast.
The royal couple has had a busy two days in Northern Ireland. They arrived by surprise on Weds. to celebrate young people making a difference in the region, Kensington Palace said in a press release. After strapping into a pair of sneakers and passing around a soccer ball with kids at Windsor Park Stadium, Middleton and Prince William got all dressed up for a party at the Belfast Empire Music Hall.
Middleton even got behind the bar and manned the tap while the Irish band LARKS prepped for their set. She was probably the most fashionable bartender of all time, too, wearing a sparkly dress and dazzling amethyst jewelry.
Her pretty mint-colored midi was by Missoni and it featured a wrap-style neckline (in classic Kate Middleton style) and sheer, puffy sleeves. While she isn't usually a huge fan of sparkly things, this is the second time the royal has sported glitter in the past month.
On Feb. 13, she paired a whimsical pink gown with glitter-coated Oscar de la Renta heels for the 100 Women In Finance gala. This time, she wore her blue-green frock with nude, suede Gianvito Rossi pumps and matching jewelry — drop earrings and a pendant necklace — by her favorite jeweler, Kiki McDonough.
A known rule-follower when it comes to royal protocol, she's been pushing the envelope on her signature style lately. Middleton's latest love of glitter is proof that you can sparkle and look sophisticated all at the same time.
