Katie Holmes Found The Perfect Spring Trench For Rainy Days Ahead
You know what they say about April showers. They bring floral prints and pretty rain jackets (that's how it goes, right?). The best way to cope with this gloomy weather is with a darling beige trench coat like Katie Holmes'.
The actor spent her Thurs. morning picking up a few packages in New York City. Perhaps they were gifts for daughter Suri's 13th birthday, seeing as she left her usual sidekick at home. In any case, Holmes looked fabulously low-key as always — effortlessly chic, never sloppy.
She threw together her favorite wardrobe staples for an impeccable street-style look worth copying immediately. Her black-and-white striped top clashed with her brown plaid trousers in the best way and those layered gold necklaces added a nice finishing touch, too.
Holmes sported a studded version of Chloe's cult-classic scalloped ballet flats (she's barely left the house without them lately) and the sleekest trench coat you'll see all spring.
The actor's jacket, which hails from Aritzia, put a trend-forward twist on a rainy-day classic. It's perfectly oversized — just how Holmes prefers her outwear — and features a super-wide collar, subtle welt pockets, and a tie belt to help maintain shape. Best of all, it's still in stock (and at a very reasonable price point).
Holmes wore hers with the belt tied in a tidy knot and the slouchy sleeves rolled up.
This layer is right up the actor's alley, seeing as she almost always goes for the same silhouette. The trendsetter debuted a similar number earlier in the season, this time a shorter cut with storm flaps in classic trench form.
In the winter, Holmes wears a gray tie-waist robe coat that looks nearly identical to her new trench. It's safe to say the girl likes to stick with her signature look.
You won't want to stray from the style either once you realize just how versatile these slouchy trenches are. Copy Holmes' look with a jacket just like hers. A few of The Zoe Report's favorites, ahead.
