Although we're only a month and a half in, 2019 has already brought with it the return of hair accessories galore. But if the thought of incorporating a bold headband or a silk scarf into your everyday hair routine seems too bold, you may want to try Kendall Jenner's hair clip instead. The model showed up to New York Fashion Week in a downplayed version of the trend — and it's so ideal for minimalists.

The model arrived to the Longchamp fashion show on Feb. 9 wearing an elevated version of a '90s staple. Jenner, an official ambassador for the British designer, wore a belted leather mini dress with short sleeves, moto-inspired lapels, and edgy zipper detailing. She paired the short frock with pointed, lace-up booties, braving the frigid East Coast weather bare legs and all.

While her sleek ensemble drew plenty of attention, her elegant nod to the hair accessory trend didn't go unnoticed. New York Fashion Week may have lined the city sidewalks with an abundance of daring jeweled pins, knotted headbands, and neon scrunchies, but Jenner opted for a more mellow approach.

With help from celebrity hairstylist and longtime member of the Kardashian glam squad, Jen Atkin, the 23-year-old clipped back a single side of her glossy blowout with a black snap clip.

This wasn't Jenner's first venture into the world of retro hair clips — the model was photographed in London back in Nov. wearing a whimsical polka-dot version. Atkin seems to love incorporating accessories into her high-profile clients' hairstyles, like Bella Hadid's signature claw clips and Chrissy Teigen's hilarious social-media craze, "headband of the day."

There's no need to count yourself out of the trend just because your style leans toward all things minimalistic. In fact, an uncomplicated snap clip is an easy way to add a modern twist to a refined look. Keep it simple like Jenner and pull back a single section of your hair with a black clip, or try adding two clips on either side of your head.
