It's 2019, and the trends that have made their way down the runways this year are bolder than ever. Take, for example, the blanket dressing fashion craze — aka, jackets, pants, and more inspired by that cozy duvet cover you slip under at night. Feathers have been adorned onto everything, too, from dresses to purses and shoes, and the prints and colors that have infiltrated the street-style world are, in a word, striking. Now, if you think you can't mix more than one of 2019's most-buzzed about trends into a single look, Kerry Washington's purple snakeskin pants outfit is here to prove you wrong, as it effortlessly mixes this year's most popular pattern with a sweet color trend.

It's no secret that the python print has been the motif of choice among the ever-stylish celeb set this year. Kendall Jenner is a huge fan of the pattern; Priyanka Chopra has sported snakeskin in various ways, too; and Bella Hadid is perhaps the biggest snake print devotee of all (case in point: her snakeskin pants, boots, and By Far bag).

Just when you thought you've seen it all in terms of snakeskin staples, Washington's latest outfit throws a huge curveball your way. The actor was photographed arriving on set at the Today show's studio — and she was impossible to miss in her monochrome lavender look.

The actor wore a pastel-purple Sally LaPointe turtleneck sweater with a cropped silhouette and extra-long bell sleeves. She paired the ultra-cute knit with purple snakeskin pants, also from Sally LaPointe, which are tailored from a durable leather and featured an understated paper-bag waist.

Washington slipped into a pair of Casadei pinkish purple suede pumps, rounding out the one-tone look with a swipe of purple lipstick. One takeaway? You should definitely match your makeup to your outfit — and a tinted lip is a great way to keep the monochrome theme going without it feeling too matchy-matchy.

What's more, the actor's on-duty look effortlessly fuses 2019's color trend (aka, sherbet hues) with the print trend that just won't quit.
