Lupita Nyong’o Paired A Haute Couture Suit With The Perfect $89 Heels
On Dec. 5, The Hollywood Reporter honored unstoppable female forces in entertainment, with a diverse group of industry powerhouses stepping out for the annual occasion. Before receiving their awards, Hollywood's top female leaders walked the red carpet donning looks that commanded the room, Lupita Nyong'o's suit included. The Black Panther actor dressed to impress at the honorary event, wearing a structural pinstripe suit from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2018 Haute Couture collection. It's no surprise that the Academy Award-winning actor chose a couture piece straight from the runway, but Nyong’o’s shoe pick was more unexpected.
To accompany her asymmetrical power suit, Nyong’o reached for a pair of affordable black kitten heel pumps from Nine West. That's right, the 12 Years A Slave star isn't afraid to do some high-low mixing on the red carpet, proving how to style budget-friendly pieces with high-end labels masterfully. The versatile pumps are a must-have closet staple, whether you're headed in to an important meeting at the office or an industry event, like Nyong’o. The actor opted for classic black, but the smart staple comes in eight different shades, from floral print to light nude.

For beauty, the actor went with jet black eyeliner and a rosy pink lip, with her hair braided into elegant top knots by hairstylist Vernon Francois. The look was topped off with silver accent jewelry, including dangly earrings and a shiny necklace that can be seen peeking out from the collar of the suit.
It was a big day for the star, as she took the stage with Black Panther costar Chadwick Boseman, to announce the Young Executives Fellowship, a new initiative designed to create an inclusive pipeline for future leaders in entertainment.
