Marc Jacobs Skin Care Is Officially Happening — Here’s When It’s Launching
Blink and you might miss it. Amidst the hustle and bustle that happens backstage at Marc Jacobs' New York Fashion Week presentation, makeup artists put some never-before-seen Marc Jacobs Beauty products to the test while crafting the models' looks for the Fall/Winter 2019 show — including one item that reveals an entirely new category for the iconic fashion and beauty empire. Beauty obsessives everywhere get ready, because Marc Jacobs skin care is officially landing June 2019.
The Zoe Report was on the scene ahead of Marc Jacobs' Feb. 13 presentation, where Diane Kendal of Marc Jacobs Beauty was backstage to oversee the creation of natural, minimalist beauty looks for each of the show's 30 models. And Kendal had a few sly little secrets up her sleeve for the show, which famously always closes out New York Fashion Week each season. Alongside cult-loved classics, like Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner and Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, three new products were on hand at each makeup artist's Marc Jacobs Beauty station. One just so happens to tease the launch of a whole new category for the beauty range.
Before makeup was applied, each of the models' faces received a dose of hydration via the soon-to-be launched Youthquake Gel Crème Moisturizer, the inaugural skincare product to be added to the Marc Jacobs Beauty collection.
The gel-creme hybrid moisturizer, which was backstage in tester jars and will launch to the public in June 2019, gives skin a quick boost of moisture and creates an ideal canvas for makeup application. Global MUA Gilbert Soliz, who was also backstage creating the beauty looks, told The Zoe Report that the fast-absorbing formula (which is faintly pineapple-scented) can even be used as a primer, since it goes on so smoothly.
In fact, the artists backstage moved right on to makeup after applying the Youthquake moisturizer — at which point the other two forthcoming launches came into play to perfect and enhance models' skin. The Accomplice Concealer and Touch Up Stick and Accomplice Instant Blurring Beauty Powder and Brush, dropping April 2019, rounded out the fresh-faced, glowy skin vibe that Jacobs wanted to spotlight for Fall/Winter 2019. And with a finish that Marc Jacobs Beauty calls "filter-like", they're surely set to become go-to's for selfie-ready skin.
This latest revelation of upcoming launches comes on the heels of the beauty brand naming Nikkie de Jager (aka, YouTube beauty sensation Nikkie Tutorials) as the new Global Artistry Ambassador for Marc Jacobs Beauty. The role was seemingly created especially for the cult-followed personality, and means she'll be on hand to assist in product development and to produce exciting educational content.
All in all, it's safe to say that 2019 is bound to be a big year for Marc Jacobs Beauty. Stay tuned here, and to the brand's social channels, to find out more about the brand's upcoming launches.
