Since officially joining the royal family last May, Meghan Markle has quickly built a signature wardrobe — one that's all about dark staples and sleek, refined pumps. But that's not to say she's against switching it up every now and then, and when she does, you can bet the world takes notice. Case in point: Meghan Markle's green suede boots, an unexpected (though very welcomed) styling decision that might have you reconsidering reaching for your trusty black booties ever again.

On Feb. 1, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a trip to the south of England, braving the snow for a visit to the Bristol Old Vic, the oldest continuously working theatre. For the outing, Harry stuck with his go-to outfit combo: casual trousers paired with a cozy sweater and a gray, wool topcoat. Markle, on the other hand, opted for an ensemble that was ever-so-slightly outside of her wheelhouse, namely because of her footwear of choice.

She wore an animal-printed, chiffon dress from Oscar de la Renta, a bold piece that is, unsurprisingly, already sold out — the Meghan Markle effect is all too real, after all. To combat the chilly temps, she layered a sleek, black William Vintage coat that offered up warmth and coverage while still allowing the patterned frock to subtly peek through. The real standout, though? The olive-green Sarah Flint boots she used as the grounding element.

The Duchess of Sussex rarely parts ways with her navy (or nude) heels, but the wintery conditions in England have called for slightly more practical footwear. And though you might think you have to sacrifice style for a functional cold-weather shoe, Markle's pair proves otherwise.

Her Sarah Flint boots are rendered in an Italian crosta leather that, with a little bit of suede protector, can be worn year-round. Other notable elements? The half-rubber sole that promises to increase grip and durability and a padded footbed that provides all-day comfort. Sounds like the ideal, fashionable winter shoe, no? It should come as no surprise, then, that they're also sold out.

If you're looking for an easy way to step outside of your comfort zone, start with your shoes. For example, rather than opting for easy, black boots, try an olive-green pair that adds an unexpected splash of color. Ahead, shop The Zoe Report's favorite green suede shoes to buy now.
