Though Markle is known to take risks with her fashion choices — she’s quite keen to bending protocol with shorter hemlines and bold, out-there prints — she’s kept it fairly low-key in the beauty department. Soft smoky eyes, flushed cheeks, and the perfect soft-pink lip have become the duchess' go-to since joining the royal family.
As it turns out, there's a reason Markle — who's actually known to do her own makeup — has stuck with this soft, more subtle beauty approach, particularly when it comes to her pout. In an interview with People last Sept., Daniel Martin, the duchess' friend and wedding makeup artist, explained why you'll rarely (if ever) see her straying away from a muted lip color.
“The one time she did a red lip, she just didn’t feel comfortable in it," Martin explained. "She likes to talk and she’s not a fussy person, so she doesn’t want to have to worry about anything."
After weeks out of the spotlight, it's only natural Markle reached for makeup products she feels 100 percent comfortable wearing — and though the exact shade she swiped on her pout pre photo call has not been confirmed, it looks very similar to the nude, mauve-y hue she's sported time and again.
