Award shows never fail to leave you with a lengthy list of powerful films to check out — and for fashion and beauty lovers, the same goes for trends to try. Nicole Kidman’s 2019 Golden Globes hair is a prime example, as it flawlessly showcased the power of a distinctive accessory to instantly elevate an otherwise simple hairstyle. In one of the first big nights of the season, Hollywood's leading actors hit the red carpet on Sun., serving up seriously stunning looks, and Kidman's is so easy to pull off.

The Australian actor was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture for her role in Destroyer, and she most certainly dressed the part. Stunning the crowd in a formfitting Michael Kors gown adorned with sequins, the mother of four opted for a low wrap bun with face-framing waves, and a black velvet bow to top it off.

Hairstylist Kylee Heath, who also works with the likes of Emma Roberts and Mandy Moore, collaborated with Kidman for the event. After blowing the actor's hair out smooth and sectioning her locks into a deep side part, Heath curled the hanging section using TRESemmé's Thermal Creations 1" Ceramic Curling Iron. Next, she secured the low bun with a pin, and finished it off with the romantic statement accessory.

"Most often the beauty look is first inspired by the gown. With the high neck we decided the hair should be pulled back," Heath shared with The Zoe Report in a press release. "[Kidman] was styled with black accessories (shoes etc.) and we thought a black bow would be the perfect touch to this chic and striking look."

This isn't the first time the Academy Award-winning actor has rocked the femme beauty trend. In fact, she wore a sheer version woven within a messy plait back in 2013 at the Cannes Film Festival. Putting a seasonal twist on the accessory by going for velvet, Kidman showcased just how easy it is to add a sophisticated touch to your ponytail or bun.

As you can see, the unexpected accessory added a French-girl quality to the crimson dress, pulling the look together with a bright-red lip and dangly diamond earrings. The best part about the dainty accessory? It's so versatile, and will look just as chic in a messy top knot or half updo. It's the perfect thing to reach for on your next manic Monday when running out the door — a surefire way to look polished in no time, and with minimal effort.
