Priyanka Chopra Had A Kate Middleton-Style Moment At NYFW
Priyanka Chopra and Kate Middleton might be on different sides of the style spectrum, but their mutual love for a skirt suit had the two looking like twins on Weds. After the duchess debuted a possible custom tweed set in London, the Bollywood actor hit the streets of New York Fashion Week in a nearly identical outfit. Priyanka Chopra's plaid skirt suit is proof that these workwear-inspired separates are about to have a major moment.
Kerry Washington, Regina King, Molly Sims, and Kate Hudson all took their seats alongside Chopra in the front row of Wed.'s Michael Kors Fall 2019 runway show at Cipriani Wall Street. There were tons of spring colors going on, from Hudson's floral maxi to Washington's silky pink frock, but Chopra kept her look subtle and sophisticated.
The checked skirt suit she chose is from Michael Kors' Pre-Fall collection and it includes a tailored, single-button front blazer with puffy shoulders and a matching ruffle-trim mini. Chopra tucked her black mock-neck top into the asymmetrical skirt and wore it with black tights to protect against the cold.
She topped the look off with suede boots that hit just below the knee, making for an overall playful yet refined look.
That's the actor's style in a nutshell, after all. She takes the latest trends and works them into her timeless looks so effortlessly, it seems. This latest skirt suit is the perfect example.
Everything about the outfit is nostalgic, from the gray plaid print to the ruffled mini (not to mention the concept of a skirt suit in itself), but the 36-year-old somehow managed to make it look modern and attainable. In fact, she looks like she could be heading to the office.
So, there you have it: your next go-to work look. If you won't take it from Chopra, then take it from the Duchess of Cambridge, herself. Skirt suits are all the rage this season. Be among the first to sport the trend with these similar sets, ahead.
