Selena Gomez Incorporated The Slime Green Trend Into Her Makeup & It’s So Good
Considering the New York Fashion Week runways were all about bright, highlighter-hued clothing, it should come as no surprise that said shades have found their way into the world of makeup, too. The celebrity set has been playing with vibrant eyeshadows as of late, favoring bright pinks, poppy oranges, and now, slime green. That's right, Selena Gomez's green eyeshadow is a bold, unexpected way to rock 2019's biggest color trend — and you're going to want to copy it ASAP.
Though the singer has been fairly absent from social media since last Sept., she's slowly starting to make a return, sharing special snaps every so often on her personal account. But it's the most recent video Gomez posted to Instagram Stories that has the beauty-obsessed reaching for an unexpected shade.
On Tues., Gomez showed off her latest, covetable beauty look. And while there's so much to admire about it — including her slicked-back side part and her perfect manicure — it's her eyes that simply steal the show.
Hung Vanngo, who's client list includes Bella Hadid and Taylor Hill, was the mastermind behind what is easily one of Gomez's boldest makeup looks to date: a simple, nude pout that's instantly amped up with slime-green, high-shine lids.
It's likely you never thought to incorporate the neon hue into your makeup, but Vanngo's latest creation might just convince you to try it out. Luckily, it's easy to recreate — even if you don't consider yourself a beauty pro.
You can emulate Gomez's bold look with just a few essentials, including a long-lasting primer and a highly pigmented green shadow (which is actually easier to find than you might think). To achieve that glazed, shiny finish, you'll want to find a non-sticky lip (or lid) gloss.
Though Vanngo went all out with the color, you can just as easily go more subtle with it, applying only a soft swipe on your lids. The beauty of a colored shadow is that both approaches — soft and minimal or thick and bold — will look stunning. Ahead, The Zoe Report rounded up all the products needed to recreate Gomez's slime-green lids.
