Sephora announced on Jan. 2 that its popular Beauty Insiders program is receiving some flashy updates for the new calendar year, and they're so thrilling that if you're not already enrolled in the free community you'll want to be, STAT. No matter the membership tier you fall under — Insider, VIB, or Rouge — there are fun new perks to be discovered with each point you earn by shopping the beauty superstore.
For starters, the program's beloved annual birthday gift offering unveiled this year's picks are mini sets from cult-fave brands Drunk Elephant and Kat Von D Beauty. Program members from every tier will be able to choose from the clean skincare brand's Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser and Protini moisturizer cream, or the top-rated makeup line's Tattoo eyeliner, Lock-It Setting Powder, and Studded Kiss lipstick packette with three sample shades.
But if you're a VIB or Rouge member, you'll have the choice to opt for another deluxe set instead, which will rotate throughout the year. Kicking off 2019 is a mini kit from Milk Makeup, containing the brand's popular vegan Kush Mascara and skin-soothing Cooling Water gel stick — scoop it up now if your birthday's coming up, or check back later when your special month comes around, because it'll be something else equally as exciting. Or, if you're all about racking up your points, you can forego the birthday gift in lieu of 250 bonus points straight to your Insider rewards account.
Speaking of points, if you're already a VIB or Rouge member, or become one during 2019, beginning in mid-January you'll get to choose a celebratory benefit to enjoy for the year. You can grab yourself an additional 750 points if you're Rouge, or 500 points if you're VIB, to cash in for rewards later on (like this Tarte deluxe sample set for 500 points).
If you're still in the giving spirit post-holidays (go you!) you can choose Sephora's Shareable Makeovers option, which gives you four Makeup Deluxe Full-Face Makeovers for Rouge, or two full-face makeovers for VIB members, so you can spread the benefits of your status. But if you shop Sephora online more often than in-store, you may want to select free shipping as your special gift. Rouge status gets you free Flash 2-day shipping year-long, while VIB gets you free shipping for all orders over $35.
