The SAG Awards Beauty Looks You'll Want To Recreate This Week
With award season in full swing, every red carpet seems to be on everyone's radar, and the 2019 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are now top of mind. And while the gowns and ensembles are of course a priority for show buffs, so are the SAG Award beauty looks, which never seem disappoint in delivering all the inspiration. Whether they're naturally radiant or bold and head-turning there's always hair and makeup look worth recreating — and Sun. evening served up a garden variety.
While last year saw a hefty portion of bold lips and retro hairstyles (thank you, Yara Shahidi), this year's red carpet was all about the hair accessories. Yes, from Lucy Boynton's sweet and simple bow to Sophia Bush's adorable headband, embellishments were the name of the game, and no one is upset about it.
One of the most memorable look of the night was (to the surprise of no one) Lady Gaga, who dropped all the jaws with her Jean Harlow-esque side-swept chignon and mulberry lips. If you're one for a bold nighttime look, try recreating it with a sleek low bun and rich crimson matte lipstick. Oh, and for some extra Gaga oomph, throw in a bold cat eye and you're golden.
In terms of a more au naturel and ethereal edge, the aforementioned Yara Shahidi stunned yet again with her glowing skin and beautiful natural hair. The young star brought her A-game with a truly flawless and effortless look that consisted of radiant cheeks, soft pink gloss, and shimmery shadow.
Also, the new darling of the red carpet, Gemma Chan, wowed yet again with her low, slightly undone chignon (tied up with a ribbon of course!) and perfect rosy complexion. The actress' deep pink lip color delivered a nice, subdued pop of color on her otherwise natural look. This may be a must-have for your spring lip arsenal.
As for the evening's honorable mention, well that goes to none other than Mandy Moore, who delivered a quintessential red carpet look that was equal parts bold and accessible. The star, who typically wears her hair in loose waves, went sleek for the evening and pulled her hair back into a slick ponytail. The rest of her look was equally dramatic as she went for smoky, lined lids and a soft, baby pink pout. Her face had that lit-from-within glow that's typical to Moore.
There's nothing quite like a red carpet that you can admire and emulate later. Luckily, this year's red carpet had plenty of stunning beauty looks to pull from and try in the new season. Looking for more red carpet inspiration? Ahead, the best beauty looks from the SAG Awards that are not only beautiful but worthy of recreation. Get your makeup brushes ready — it's time to relive the magic.
