The Unexpected Color Trend That Everyone Wore To the American Music Awards

This past Sunday, celebrities gathered at the Microsoft Theater in LA to honor some of biggest names in the music industry. And when it came to the fashion, the best looks at the 2019 American Music Awards were undeniably eye-catching — think bold color, high-shine, and ample sparkle.No stranger to a head-turning look, your favorite celebs showed up in a range of outfits that were fun and playful, but also sleek and glamorous.

The AMA's red carpet saw vibrant citrus shades this season, with Selena Gomez sporting a strapless neon green Versace mini-dress with pumps in the same hue. Meanwhile, Dua Lipa's look felt like a modern take on Old Hollywood glamour. The songstress wore a floor-grazing fuchsia Miu Miu gown with a black velvet bow and a dazzling emerald pendant.

As for the host of the AMAs, Ciara served up a slew of striking looks, including an electric-blue red-carpet number. But, it was the peach-hued Georges Hobeika jumpsuit that grabbed a spot on TZR's list of must-see outfits. While Lizzo was also spotted in a similar sherbet orange shade on the carpet. The musician wore a custom Valentino ruffled dress that she teamed with the mini-bag of all mini-bags.

The amount of sparkle and shine on the red carpet was not unnoticed either, with everyone from Taylor Swift to Carrie Underwood glistening in their gowns. Billie Eilish, however, brought the sparkle in a totally Billie Eilish way by sporting a Burberry check head-to-toe with a crystal mesh sleeved top and a veiled bonnet (a style that was first seen on the Spring/Summer 2020 runway).
