This Red Nail Polish Is Officially Victoria Beckham-Approved
It's no secret that vibrant, crimson hues are amongst the season's top color trends. Considering red is cheery, bright, and guaranteed to be an instant mood lifter during the cold-weather season, it's no wonder street-style stars and celebrities alike have worked the rich shade into their wardrobes. But if red statement boots or ruby-hued skirts feel a bit out of your comfort zone, Victoria Beckham's red nail polish is proof that there's a subtle (and affordable) way to get in on the trend.
On Sun. evening, Beckham attended the 2018 People’s Choice Awards in a white suit that, unsurprisingly, hailed from her eponymous brand. But prior to making her red carpet appearance, the designer made sure to pencil in some time with celebrity manicurist, Tom Bachik. One look at her perfect red mani will have you convinced that even the smallest swipe of red can take any look to new heights. Not only is Beckham's shade a great, festive hue for the holiday season, but it's also a simple, understated way to rock crimson with all of your cold-weather outfits.
Lucky for you, recreating Beckham's red nails wont require test driving every poppy shade on the market — Bachik took to Instagram to share the exact polish he used on the designer. The dark-red lacquer is by Bio Seaweed Gel, a nail polish line that's 100 percent big-five free (which means you won't find formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA, or camphor in any of their formulas). Beckham's shade, named Mary, hits right under the $20 mark and is still available to shop online.
Though in recent weeks, Beckham has opted for softer, more subdued manicures (think: neutrals and whites), her red nails are a welcomed change of pace. If you follow the designer's style closely, you probably know she's no stranger to sporting the poppy hue, whether it's in the form of ruby-red party heels, a statement-making clutch, or a swipe of crimson lipstick.
As it turns out, there's a reason why Beckham consistently works the shade into her looks, nails included. In an interview with Elle last year, the designer revealed that she wears red because it's positive and optimistic. "For me, when I wear color, that's how I feel. Red is a strong, happy, optimistic color, and I like having fun with it, you know?" she explained.
Convinced to test drive the red trend, but not ready to dive in head first? Start small with just a swipe of Beckham's nail polish. Ahead, shop the designer's exact shade, as well as The Zoe Report's roundup of red lacquers that are sure to stand out this holiday season.
