Victoria Beckham Knows How To Make These Polarizing Pants Look Chic
The '80s called, and they wholeheartedly approve of Victoria Beckham's stirrup leggings. That's right, the polarizing pants of the bygone decade — which might conjure up thoughts of aerobics videos, Jane Fonda, and last but certainly not least, equestrian style — have officially earned the fashion designer's stamp of approval. Prepare to experience a change of heart, because Beckham just made the once-controversial pants look incredibly chic — and you're going to want to scoop up a pair (or two) ASAP.
The designer was photographed arriving at St Pancras International in London, after returning home from a short trip to Paris with her husband. David looked casual-cool in beige trousers and a forest-green bomber jacket that he zipped up over a crisp white tee. Considering Beckham never misses a style mark, it should come as no surprise that she, too, served up serious fashion goodness, even whilst traveling via Eurostar from Paris to London.
The 45-year-old's latest look, which she also sported earlier in the day while running around the City of Lights, harked back on '80s style — but with a chic twist. The hero piece in her getup? A pair of ultra-cozy wool-blend leggings from her eponymous line. The bottoms feature an elastic waistband for maximum comfort and a stirrup ankle. But before you let the latter design aspect scare you off, take a look at how she styled them.
Beckham paired her stirrup leggings with a black Chanel cardigan. The top layer's sharp shoulders, front pockets, and statement buttons added dimension to her all-black ensemble, but ultimately, it was a simple styling trick that took her pants to an entirely new level.
Rather than choosing to wear the stirrup hooks (which are actually quite practical because they hold your tights in place) around her foot as is typically done, she decided to update the sporty staple by tucking the straps underneath her white pumps for a can't-miss contrast.
Stirrup leggings have been in the midst of the comeback for quite some time — and they've quickly become a signature of Beckham's, too. She was actually first spotted wearing the same pair back in Nov. 2018, styling them with a camouflage jacket and black booties.
