Bella Hadid Owns This Sweater In Two Colors (& You Should, Too)
Gone are the days when button-up, wool sweaters were synonymous with grandmothers. As evident by Bella Hadid's cardigans, the old-school style has officially resurfaced in the fashion world — only this time, there's a twist. Hadid walked the streets of New York and Paris wearing her new formula: a colorful cardigan, unbuttoned and sans base layer.
Throughout her hectic schedule during fashion month (the model has already walked in a handful of shows, including Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford), Hadid's off-duty style can best be described as comfortable. Case in point: In between shows in New York City on Sept. 11, Hadid paired a purple Vivienne Westwood ribbed-knit cardigan with loose-fitting jeans and white pointed-toe boots.
After arriving in Paris on Sept. 18, the model opted for a butterscotch, merino-wool cardigan by The Row with high-waisted jeans, a leopard-print belt, and black combat boots.
On both occasions, Hadid topped off her cardigan sweater with another look we've seen the model repeat throughout the season: a slicked-back, glossy bun fastened with a '90s-inspired claw clip. Of course, Hadid also paired her outfits with hoop earrings (the surprisingly affordable piece she keeps in rotation).

The stylish younger Hadid sister has seemingly coined a new trend here, adding edge to an utterly average (read: borderline boring) sweater. Creatures of comfort, rejoice — Hadid proves you can transform an unassuming layer into a fashionable, stand-alone piece.
That's good news for anyone inspired to recreate the model's look — just dust off that sweater you've been neglecting in the back of your closet and try styling it with a fresh set of eyes.

You've got options with this trend: Go bold like Hadid and pair your unbuttoned cardigan with a pair of baggy jeans, or opt for a more traditional route by layering it with a tank or t-shirt.
But regardless of how you wear it, Hadid is proof that you shouldn't be afraid to experiment with brighter color palettes you typically avoid in the fall (read: yellows, blues, and purples are far more exciting than that black sweater you live in).
