Caroline Tien is an editorial fellow at Newsweek and a freelance journalist who has written for Inverse, Insider, Verywell Health, Real Health, POZ, and Cancer Health, among other publications. She majored in English with a concentration in creative writing and minored in biology at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania. While a student, she also worked as a writing tutor, interned for the communications department and the American Society of Magazine Editors, and edited stories for the campus newspaper. Caroline has won several awards and honors for her creative and academic writing, including a merit scholarship to Westtown School and a Scholastic Art and Writing Award. Her work includes an investigation into the impact of social media on mental health and a profile of breast cancer survivors who found solace in dragon boating.
