Prior to Bustle, Scarlett was a writer and editor for digital media startups and an admissions consultancy. Before moving to New York she worked as a prestige makeup artist for three years and, upon arriving in Manhattan, managed an organic salon on 5th Avenue. Her background in fashion stems from work as an actress, print, and runway model and in theatrical costuming. She has studied at universities around the world and holds a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature with concentrations in marketing and theatre from Middle Tennessee State University.

Outside the bubble of cult-favorite fashion, you can find her turning it up in an Equinox HIIT class or trying out new Paleo recipes. She loves reading almost as much as she loves her rescue cat, and once traveled 26 hours straight to attend a friend’s wedding.
