These Chocolates Will Make You Look Younger

Prepare yourself, as today is about to go down in history as one of the best of your life. Our favorite female wellness entrepreneurs—Sakara co-founders Whitney Tingle and Danielle DuBoise—have released the snack of our dreams. It’s called Beauty Chocolate, and it’s exactly what it sounds like—chocolate that will make you more beautiful. It achieves this by being “supercharged with 70mg of plant-based, collagen-promoting phytoceramides.” Just two chocolates a day, the company claims, will give you visibly plumper skin. In our experience, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is, so we had a few questions for the Sakara ladies about this miracle product. Here, the deets on your new favorite snack.

Is this a first-of-its-kind product? “There are other beauty foods on the market, but most of them use animal collagen. We wanted something totally plant based, which is why we’re so excited about the phytoceramides in Sakara Beauty Chocolates.”

Where do phytoceramides occur naturally? “They’re derived from wheat, but they’re gluten-free.”

How much chocolate did you consume in order to come up with the winning formula for these? “We love chocolate, so taste-testing a few versions wasn’t a problem for us! We knew that in addition to functional phytoceramides, we wanted a clean chocolate recipe that uses the highest-quality ingredients. So we stuck to the formula we trust: organic, fair trade, raw, dark cacao and low-glycemic coconut sugar.”

If we eat the whole batch in one sitting, will we glow more or just gain weight? “Well, with no refined sugar, dairy or artificial additives, these are definitely better for you than the average chocolate bar. Each one contains 70mg of phytoceramides, which is the dose clinically proven to deliver visibly enhanced skin in two weeks of use. We recommend enjoying one or two a day.”

Can we bake with them? “We haven’t tried it yet, but now you have us thinking about melted Beauty Chocolates drizzled over popcorn, or Beauty Chocolate chip cookies!”

We love your creativity in the snack realm. (We’ve also been dying to try your watermelon jerky.) Finally, snacks created by women like us! What’s next? “We’ve got some really exciting new functional snacks and products in the pipeline! Get ready for something sweet and something savory.”
