Fawnia Soo Hoo is a freelance contributor to The Zoe Report, where she writes about fashion, entertainment-related style and bridal.
Fawnia covers fashion and entertainment, with a specialty in television and film costume design and bridal style and industry trends. In addition to The Zoe Report, her bylines include The Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, Refinery 29, Elle and Fashionista. She began her career as a roving sample sale reporter for Racked New York (RIP), and, since, highlights include profiling two-time Oscar winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter multiple times and interviewing Academy Award winner Ke Huy Quan on the heartfelt meaning behind his red carpet takeover. Fawnia was also a featured writer in The New York Times bestseller, Rise: A Pop History of Asian America From the Nineties to Now.
When she’s not watching big- and small-screen fare in the name of work, Fawnia will probably be binging the latest buzzworthy series, checking out a performance or standup set in the neighborhood (Ramy!) or obsessing over the latest episode of “Las Culturistas” podcast. She’s also a vintage shopping (and browsing) enthusiast, especially during trips Upstate, which also makes for a fun excuse to DM with costume designers to compare finds. You can find Fawnia on Twitter (where she mostly lurks) and Instagram @fawnianewyork and her full writing portfolio here.
